Six things: the carpet, the pad, professional installation by in-house crews, furniture moving, haul-away of your old carpet and pad, and a 2-year labor warranty on the workmanship. The only items outside the standard scope are stairs, which are priced separately, and significant subfloor repairs, which are quoted as an add-on if identified during the in-home visit — before you commit to anything.
Quick Facts
- Every option is American-made and selected from CarpetNow’s mobile showroom — you see samples in your actual lighting before committing; use the carpet calculator for a cost estimate by room size and tier beforehand
- Padding is included in every quote — budget installers commonly charge separately or use thinner pad to cut costs; our carpet padding guide explains why density and construction matter
- Installation is done by CarpetNow’s own employees, not subcontractors — the same company that sold you the carpet does the install; see the installation expectations guide for what to expect on the day
- Furniture moving is included — no need to clear rooms beforehand; unusually heavy or fragile items are flagged during the in-home consultation
- The 2-year labor warranty covers installation workmanship — seams, stretching, edge work — separate from the carpet manufacturer’s product warranty
What’s Not Included
- Stairs — priced separately as its own line item due to additional labor; our stair runner guide covers the options available
- Significant subfloor repairs — identified and quoted during the in-home visit before installation begins, never surfaced as a surprise charge on installation day
- Everything else — material, pad, labor, furniture moving, disposal, and the labor warranty — is in the number you agree to; see how that compares to big box pricing in our guide to avoiding carpet installation scams

CarpetNow’s installed price covers six things: the carpet, the pad, professional installation by our own crews, furniture moving, haul-away of your old carpet and pad, and a 2-year labor warranty on the workmanship. Stairs are priced separately, and significant subfloor repairs are quoted as an add-on if needed. Everything else is in the number you’re given during your in-home consultation.
The Carpet
Your carpet is selected from CarpetNow’s mobile showroom, which our consultant brings directly to your home. Every option we carry is American-made. You’re choosing from a curated set of styles, fibers, and colors, and you get to see samples in your actual space — under your lighting, next to your walls — before committing to anything.
If you’re not sure which carpet makes sense for your home, our carpet variants guide walks through the main construction and fiber differences. The CarpetNow carpet calculator can also give you a cost estimate by room size and tier before the consultation.
The Pad
Quality padding is included in every quote. This matters more than most homeowners realize. Padding affects how the carpet feels underfoot, how well it holds up to foot traffic, and how long it takes before the carpet starts showing compression and wear.
Budget installers often cut costs here by using a thinner or lower-density pad, or by charging for it separately. At CarpetNow, it’s part of the installed price. The Carpet and Rug Institute recommends selecting padding based on traffic level and the carpet manufacturer’s density requirements — our team accounts for both during the in-home visit.
For a detailed look at what separates pad options and why it matters, the CarpetNow padding guide covers the key differences.
Professional Installation by Our Own Crews
CarpetNow installs carpet using its own employees, not subcontractors. That distinction is worth understanding. When a big box retailer sells you carpet installation, the crew that shows up is typically hired through a third-party contractor network. Their quality, experience, and adherence to installation standards can vary.
With CarpetNow, the same company that sold you the carpet is doing the installation. Our crews follow CRI 104/105 installation standards, which are the only residential installation standards recognized by the carpet industry. If something isn’t right with the installation, you’re not navigating between a retailer and a separate contractor to get it resolved — you’re calling us.
For a clear picture of what installation day actually looks like, the CarpetNow installation expectations guide walks through the process from start to finish.
Furniture Moving
You don’t need to clear the rooms yourself. Our crew moves standard furniture as part of the job. This is another area where other installers commonly add a separate fee or require homeowners to do it themselves ahead of time.
A few things to keep in mind: items that are extremely heavy, fragile, or require disassembly may need to be addressed before installation day. Your consultant will flag anything unusual during the in-home visit.
Haul-Away of Old Carpet and Pad
When we’re done installing, your old carpet and pad will be left with us. Disposal is included. You won’t be left with a pile of rolled-up carpet to deal with after the fact.
The Carpet and Rug Institute notes that responsible disposal of post-consumer carpet is an important consideration for homeowners and contractors alike. CarpetNow handles this as part of the standard job.
The 2-Year Labor Warranty
Every CarpetNow installation comes with a 2-year labor warranty covering the quality of the workmanship. This covers installation-related issues — seams, stretching, edge work — not carpet manufacturer defects, which are covered by the carpet’s own product warranty.
The FTC advises homeowners to get written warranty terms before any home improvement job begins. At CarpetNow, the warranty is part of the standard scope, not an upgrade or add-on.
What's Not Included
Two things fall outside the standard installed price:
Stairs are priced separately. Stair installation is more labor-intensive than flat rooms and is quoted as its own line item. If your project includes stairs, we’ll give you a complete price that breaks out the room and stair costs clearly. For homeowners specifically looking at stair options, our stair runner guide covers what’s available.
Significant subfloor repairs are quoted as an add-on if needed. If your subfloor has damage, moisture issues, or unevenness that needs to be addressed before installation, we’ll identify that during the in-home visit and quote it separately before you commit to anything. There are no surprise repair charges on installation day.
The Carpet and Rug Institute’s installation standards call for subfloor inspection as a prerequisite to professional installation — our process is built around surfacing those issues early, not after the job has started.
Everything else — material, pad, labor, furniture moving, disposal, and the labor warranty — is in the price you agree to before installation day. Ready to get your complete installed quote? Schedule a free in-home consultation, and we’ll come to you, measure your space, and give you a number that covers the whole job.
