    Style is mostly look and feel, it barely moves your price. But the three families wear very differently, so choose for how the room is actually used.

    Carpet is sold by the square foot installed, but you plan it by the room. We price bedrooms at a standard 12×12 (about 144 sq ft) so your estimate is realistic before anyone measures.

    Should you replace carpet before selling, or right after moving in?

    How long you’ll live with the carpet is the single biggest driver of value. It decides whether paying up for a longer-lasting fiber makes sense for you.

    • ✓Selling within a year, Value grade shows well for buyers, and you won’t be there when it wears.
    • ✓Just moved in / forever home, Premium is usually cheapest per year, because cheap carpet gets replaced twice in the same window.
    • ✓Staying 1–5 years, Preferred nylon or triexta is the sweet spot.

    How do you choose the right carpet grade?

    Grade is where the price actually moves, and it comes down to the fiber and how long it lasts in your traffic. We group carpet into three grades: Value, Preferred and Premium.

    • ✓Value ($2.75–4/sq ft, 10 year life), solution dyed polyester; budget friendly and stain resistant.
    • ✓Preferred ($4–5/sq ft, 10 to 20 year life), premium solution dyed polyester; the sweet spot for families.

    How much does carpet installation cost?

    Is the calculator’s price a real quote?

    It’s an honest, modeled range built from CarpetNow’s published pricing, standard room sizes and 2026 material costs, not a formal quote. Your exact number depends on subfloor condition, room shape and seaming, which we confirm with a free in-home estimate.

    What’s included in the price?

    Your all-in price covers the carpet, standard 6 lb padding, moving your furniture, pulling up the old carpet, sales tax, and installation by crews we work with every day, backed by a lifetime labor warranty. Hauling the old carpet away is a flat $150, shown as its own line so you see it up front.

    Is carpet priced by the room or by the square foot?

    Both, really. Carpet is sold by the square foot installed, but you plan it by the room. We use standard room sizes (a bedroom is about 144 sq ft) to estimate, then laser-measure every room at your visit for the exact figure.

    How long does new carpet last?

    It depends on the fiber and your traffic: Value runs up to 10 years, Preferred 10 to 20, and Premium 20 or more. Proper padding, included in every CarpetNow quote, extends that life 30–50%.

    Do you really move the furniture and remove the old carpet?

    Furniture moving is free and so is pulling up the old carpet. Our crews move beds, dressers, couches and desks and put every room back together. Hauling the old carpet away and disposing of it is a flat $150. You just clear small items and electronics.

    How soon can carpet be installed?

    We stock carpet locally, so most installs happen within a few days of choosing, and same-day or next-day appointments are often available.

    Do you offer financing?
